Empowering Women & Youth to Transform Agriculture
Across Zambia, women make up the majority of smallholder farmers—yet many remain excluded from finance, markets, and decision-making spaces. At Nkonka Women in Agribusiness (NWAB), we are changing this reality by equipping women and youth with the tools, networks, and opportunities needed to thrive across the agricultural value chain. We are building a future where women and young people are not just participants—but leaders driving agricultural transformation, food security, and economic growth.
Agricultural Training & Capacity Building
We equip women and youth with the knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in modern agriculture. Our training programmes focus on climate-smart farming, regenerative practices, hydroponics, and value addition—ensuring increased productivity, food security, and long-term sustainability.
Agribusiness Skills & Value Chain Development
We go beyond farming by building strong agribusiness capabilities. Participants gain hands-on experience in processing, packaging, branding, and accessing markets—enabling them to transition from subsistence farming to profitable, market-driven enterprises.
Financial Inclusion
& Agrifinance
We address one of the biggest barriers to growth—access to finance. Through savings groups, micro-financing, and financial literacy programmes, we enable women and youth to invest in their businesses, expand operations, and achieve financial independence.
Climate-Smart & Sustainable Agriculture
We promote sustainable agricultural practices that protect the environment while improving productivity. Our initiatives include water conservation, soil management, and climate-resilient farming techniques that strengthen long-term food systems.
Entrepreneurship & Livelihood Development
We support aspiring and existing entrepreneurs with business training, mentorship, and access to startup support. By nurturing innovation and enterprise, we help women and youth build resilient income streams and scalable agribusiness ventures.
Leadership, Advocacy & Community Engagement
We empower women and youth with leadership skills, strengthen community organisations, and advocate for inclusive agricultural policies—enabling communities to drive sustainable change and access greater opportunities.
